GitHub is now free for teams

Microsoft owned Github has announced today on April 14, 2020, that it's free for teams now. That means teams can now manage their work together in one place: CI/CD, project management, code review, packages, and more.

Github also reduced the subscription cost for users.

For paid subscriptions, the users can now pay subscription price of $4 per user/month which earlier was $9 per user/month.

GitHub’s primary revenue source is paid accounts with enterprise users, allowing Developers to host private repositories along with many other features like Unlimited private repositories, Unlimited collaborators, etc.

Earlier, Microsoft has acquired an open-source code repository website, GitHub for $7.5 billion in an all-stock deal. GitHub continued to operate independently as a community, platform, and business.
