GitHub and OpenAI launch Copilot - an AI pair programmer

GitHub Copilot powered by the OpenAI Codex AI system launch a tool that generates entire function or suggests line completion as developers type in the editor. GitHub Copilot meant to improve productivity.
As developers type code Copilot suggest line completion or function body that can be accepted or rejected. Developers can cycle through the suggestions as well.
The technical preview works with various languages and frameworks but the key ones where it returns decent results is Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, and Go.
Trained on billions of lines of public code, GitHub Copilot puts the knowledge you need at your fingertips, saving you time and helping you stay focused.
Note that GitHub Copilot is only available as a technical preview for Visual Studio Code for now.
